My Review:
The debate over global warming is a heated one (pun intended.) This documentary, however, makes a compelling argument for its reality – particularly the evidence of shrinking glaciers and the recent drastic increase in average global temperature.
The most important point this film makes, however, it that “Global Warming” isn’t as big an issue as “Climate Change.” Human behavior HAS had an effect on the earth, and the weather, consequently has become more intense. A second ice age is just as likely as global heating.
After watching this film, it’s hard to deny that Climate Change exists. The question now is, what should we do about it?
Trailer:
Quote:
- You see that pale, blue dot? That's us. Everything that has ever happened in all of human history has happened on that pixel. All the triumphs and all the tragedies, all the wars all the famines, all the major advances... it's our only home.
- Should we prepare for other threats besides terrorists?
- Future generations may well have occasion to ask themselves, "What were our parents thinking? Why didn't they wake up when they had a chance?" We have to hear that question from them, now.
- I don't really consider this a political issue; I consider it to be a moral issue.
- …doing the right thing moves us forward.
P. S. (14-10-10):
As interesting as I found this documentary, it did NOT merit winning the Nobel Peace Prize over Irena Sendler.
